21st Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Curious Cubs

Animals, though we think of them as different, are so reflective of us, but showing this through a photograph is often difficult. However, capturing wildlife up close and intimately helps to create a feeling we can relate to. As opposed to traditional telephoto photography, this wide-angle perspective allows one to experience the genuine curiosity brown bear cubs have during their customary Alaskan beach walks.
